In this study, we applied PETRA-FS sequence to image osteochondral tissue and found that it could show non-calcified cartilage, including deep radial layer (which cannot be shown by conventional MRI), by exhibiting a high signal. The UTE sequence used in previous experiments to image cartilage showed a decreasing trend from deep to superficial signal in the articular cartilage.
