Using chi square statistics, we found that teachers rated children who were more engaged on the playground as having higher social skills, although the association was only marginally significant, χ 2 (1, N = 56) = 3.78, p = 06.
Damaged p-values
Two kinds of p-value that cannot be taken at face value. Neither is quietly discarded, and neither is allowed into a median or a histogram anywhere else on this site.
The missing decimal point
3 sentences report a p-value whose decimal point did not survive: p <01 for p < .01, p = 06 for p = .06. The tell is a leading zero on a value with no separator at all, which describes a p-value and almost nothing else.
These are read as the author meant them, because the alternative is worse: taken literally, p <01 is p = 1.0, which would sit in the ordinary bands looking like a real result.
Collapsing over SOAs, the overall effect of 13 ms was only marginally significant, F 1 (1, 90)=12.43, p <01; F 2 (1, 21)=3.59, p =.07.
In contrast, the study connection was only marginally significant (OR 0.97; 95% CI 0.94–1.00; p = 0003) and did not link with the progression of proliferative alterations in males with prostate cancer (n = 22,773) compared to the control group (n = 23,050) [ 141 ].
Not a probability at all
A p-value is a probability. It cannot be exactly zero, it cannot be negative, and it cannot exceed one. These 10 sentences report one that is.
Most are p = 0.000, which is a rounding decision printed as a certainty: the honest form is p < 0.001.
We went on to show that the use of exogenous normalizers only for absolute RT‐qPCR concentrations measurements did not influence the correlation with microarray data (standard normalization) for miR‐16‐5p (r = 0.52; P = 7.1E‐2) and miR‐486‐5p (r = 0.84; P = 2.9E‐4), although the correlation becomes slightly significant for miR‐93‐5p (r = 0.55; P = 4.9E‐2) ( Figure 4 middle panel).
Specifically, the calculation results of the meta-analysis revealed a moderately significant relationship between motivation and loyalty (r = 0.420, 95%CI = [0.321–0.505], p<0.000) with 16 observations.
The most significant positive association was found between FEC and IgA measured in the nasal secretions of young ewes using both antigens (Rho = 0.5; p = 0.00); the correlation of FEC with IgA in serum was moderately significant (Rho = 0.306; p = 0.00).
VAS and DHS L4-L5 MRI findings were evaluated according to physical activity level, and a moderately significant result was determined only for sedentary individuals ( r = 0.45, p = 0.00).
There was even a moderately significant correlation between parental economic distress and the BAS ( r = .44, P = .00).
A moderately significant relationship existed between the PCL-5 total score and pessimism schema (r = 0.463, p = 0.000) ( Table 2 ).
In addition, difference in mean follow-up period between two groups was quite significant (87.1 months versus 65.9 months, p = 0.000) so that it could possibly give rise to another source of bias in aneurysm regrowth.
Some studies showed significant differences ( P = 0.09,[ 66 ] P = 0.063,[ 146 ] P = 0.054,[ 31 ] which were only marginally significant, P = 0.000,[ 71 ] P = 0.000,[ 144 ] P = 0.003,[ 65 ] P = 0.000,[ 4 ] P = 0.000[ 70 ]) and some did not demonstrate significant or marginally significant differences ( P > 0.1).[ 66 , 148 , 149 , 150 , 176 ] TREATMENT OF CONGENITALLY MISSING TEETH CMT has direct clinical implications.
After controlling for the two factors of bone grafting and RBH, partial correlation analysis showed a moderately significant correlation between the ESBG and IPL, with a partial correlation coefficient of 0.560 (P=0.000).
A moderately significant association of smoking with PCSK-9 use was determined ( p = 0.00).
