However, results from our current study have implied a few study limitations: 1) osteoclasts were increased in GIO rats in our study, rather than showing a decreasing trend according to previous reports ( 30 , 31 ); 2) there was a discrepancy between the decreased osteoblasts and the increased expression of RANKL in the present study.
