Since the energy required to form cracks was much greater than the energy required to drive crack expansion, the resistance to plowing and scratching of the abrasive grains on the workpiece decreased significantly when the abrasive grains impacted the workpiece to produce microcracks, resulting in a decreasing trend of tangential grinding force.
