The author measured the bleeding time in three groups of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, including 57 off aspirin and 29 taking aspirin 3 g daily, and found a highly significant difference (161 vs. 302 s) in the off versus on aspirin groups, respectively (Gast, 1964 ).
