In a generalized estimating equations logistic regression model adjusted for four socioeconomic variables, imputations for missing values for marital status and race, and inverse probability weighting to account for attrition, there were marginally significant effects for improved strong agreement with the statements, “If I visit my health care provider on a regular basis, I will be a healthy new mother” as well as “Drinking alcohol will harm the health of my developing baby.” The Text4baby intervention had no effects on any of the measured behaviors (e.g., alcohol use).
