The EC mortality in human corneas showed an increasing trend over the storage time at 2°C to 8°C ( Figs. 1 B, 1 D), and a statistically significant difference in EC mortality was observed between day 0 and day 7 only (day 7: P = 0.0193; day 3: P = 0.1144; day 14: P = 0.3056; post hoc Bonferroni test, following one-way ANOVA).
