Cox proportional hazards models showed that elderly AMI patients with high NLR had a 3.091-fold higher risk of in-hospital death events than those with low NLR (95% CI 2.097–4.557, P < 0.001), and high NLR was associated with the risk of in-hospital death in elderly AMI patients; high PLR was also associated with in-hospital death in models 1 and 2, but showed marginally significant ( P = 0.088) results in model 3, whcih may require a larger sample sizes for validation, as detailed in Table 3 .
