Since the analysis used 2016–2020 data, COVID-19 restrictions may have affected use of screening and diagnostic services and potentially impacted NAS identification in 2020; however, given the 2020 data is part of an overall trend of declining NAS rates of four years in a row the presenting data likely accurately mirrors the NAS birth rate.
