Both the latitudinal and altitudinal distribution of the numbers of radiocarbon dates from archeological sites during 6.5–3.6 kyr, especially after 5 kyr, show an increasing trend in the Altai-Sayan and surrounding regions (Fig. 4g–i ), indicating increased human migration and population expansion in this region under the more favorable environmental conditions.
