Although Indonesian economic growth has generally shown an increasing trend since 2004, the global financial crisis around 2008 might be reflected in Fig. 1 with a slight U-shape for the middle- and low-income groups indicating the pre-crisis period in 2002–2007 and the post-crisis period in 2008–2012 ( Mohammad et al., 2021 ).
