While the Gli1 and PDGFRα co-positive cells were maintained at similar levels in control and ligated mice in the whole gland ( Figures 5E,F ), the Gli1-derived cell population that co-expresses PDGFRβ expanded five-fold post-ligation surgery in the whole gland ( Figures 5G,H ), with a significant increase being present in the distal region of the gland and an increasing trend in the medial and proximal regions of the gland ( Supplementary Figures S2D–F ).
