According to the statistics from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC), 4 the number and rate of people testing positive for the nucleic acid of the SARS-CoV-2 have shown an increasing trend followed by a decreasing trend since December 9, 2022, peaking at of 6.94 million positive cases on December 22nd, and then fluctuating downwards, with 12,738 positive cases reported on February 23rd ( Figure 1A ).
