Results An increasing trend emerged in the proportion of older people having maximum BAEL score over 3 decades, as 27% in 1989, 40% in 1999, 38% in 2009, and finally 43% in 2019 gained 2 points in the BAEL score ( p for linearity < 0.001, adjusted for age and sex) (Table 1 ).
