Another fact supporting the idea of strong photoinhibition induced by the experimental treatment is that the chlorophyll fluorescence signal showed a slightly increasing trend in KK (while actinic light was switched on—see an arrow in Figure 1 , subplot B) and even increased when the actinic light was switched off (marked with an asterisk).
