3.4 Plant nutrient concentration Among the macronutrients analyzed in the cultivar ‘Hayward’, N and P recorded highly significant variation ( p ≤ 0.01 ), while variation in K was found to be only significant ( p ≤ 0.05 ) ( Table 2 ).
The uptake of Mg 2+ in roots is recorded to be inhibited if there are more than 20 μmol L −1 concentrations of K + [ 89 ] and that’s why the correlation between Mg and K may not be significant at higher levels of probability (p > 99.9%) but significant at lower levels of probability (p > 95%) [ 90 ].
