8 9 Despite recent updates of clinical guidelines and an overall trend towards individualising treatment based on the patient’s response, short-course antibiotic therapy remains underused in clinical practice. 10 11 Therefore, more evidence to support the optimal length of therapy may assist in clinical decision making of shorter durations of antibiotic therapy to a suitable subset of patients.
