Our finding contrasts the observations made by Eaton et al, where it was seen that although there is a high prevalence of anxiety and depression in severe COPD, there appears to be a decreasing trend in psychological stress after initiating LTOT. 6 However, in both these studies, the sample size of patients on LTOT was much smaller and focused only on patients with COPD, and hence may not be the actual representation of patients with LTOT in general due to various respiratory indications.
