While this latter finding is in line with the results of Grol & De Raedt ( 2018 ), who reported a marginally significant relationship between resilience and more efficient task switching (in a slightly smaller sample) when a negative stimulus was preceded by a positive one, the robust correlations independent of switch direction observed in the present study speak against a specific role of flexible disengagement from aversive information for resilience.
