( Peng et al., 2019 ) administered saline containing 1 × 10 8 CFU/mL of enterococcus faecium NCIMB 10415 to piglets attacked with Escherichia coli K88 (saline administered under the same conditions was the control group) and found that compared with the control group, the relative abundance of Verrucomicrobiota in the group of enterococcus faecium after challenge showed an increasing trend, while the relative abundance of cholephilic bacteria showed a decreasing trend.
