23 In the adsorption of some small gas molecules such as N 2 O, NO 2 , NO, H 2 S, SO 2 , and SO 3 on Mg 12 O 12 , Be 12 O 12 and Ca 12 O 12 surfaces, the adsorption was observed to follow an increasing trend of Ca 12 O 12 > Mg 12 O 12 > Be 12 O 12 , showing that these gases are fairly adsorbed on the Mg 12 O 12 nanocage. 24 In this present study, investigation was carried out on the adsorption of diazomethane (CH 2 N 2 ) on pure magnesium oxide (MgO) and X-decorated (X = Y and Zr) magnesium oxide (MgO) surfaces.
