In men, subjects with the highest quartile had significantly higher risk of CVD compared with the lowest quartile (relative risk [RR], 1.53; 95% CI, 1.20 to 1.96), but an increasing trend of incident CVD in the second and third quartiles of the TyG index was not evident (RR, 1.22; 95% CI, 0.94 to 1.59 for second quartile; and RR, 1.16; 95% CI, 0.89 to 1.51 for third quartile).
