When bacteria were cultured with inorganic N (ammonium chloride), the bacterial pellet was linearly depleted in 15 N compared to the lowest level (from -2.95 to -5.50) and numerically there was a decreasing trend in Δ 15 N bacteria-substrate as ammonia N increased.
