We observed a highly significant positive correlation between maize grain concentrations of Zn and Fe (r=0.849 ***), in agreement with other studies ( Chakraborti et al., 2009 ; Wang et al., 2012 ; Xia et al., 2019 ; Zhao et al., 2020 ), indicating possible synergies between these traits.
