Even after adjusting for the randomized group, a highly significant inverse linear dose–response relationship was noted for each 2-point improvement in MEDAS and higher adherence to the MedDiet linearly resulted in lower risk of diabetes, regardless of the provision of extra virgin olive oil or nuts in the intervention program.
