This study contradicted the results of a study conducted in 2017 in the Department of Pediatrics, Father Mullers Medical College and Hospital, Mangalore, Karnataka, India that found a highly significant P -value (0.000001) for the urine dipstick test for nitrite alone compared to leukocyte esterase alone with a P -value of 0.06, which is not significant when compared to urine culture in the diagnosis of UTI.
