Furthermore, recent progress in data mining, high throughput data generation relative to gene, protein, and metabolic networks, as well as computer simulations of protein–protein interactions [ 4 , 6 ], offers a new and very attractive opportunity to identify those proteins that would have marginal significance in normal cells but would become signaling hubs in cancer cells.
