We found a highly significant constant term, representing a main effect of the condition contrast ( Wilks λ = 0.293, F (4,38) = 22.914, p <.001, ηp 2 = 0.71) in general as well as for each of the four subjective ratings (subjective burden: F (1,41) = 75.531, p <.001, ηp 2 = 0.65; self-compassion: F (1,41) = 11.211, p <.01, ηp 2 = 0.22 ; equanimity: F (1,41) = 59.198, p <.001, ηp 2 = 0.59; effort: F (1,41) = 45.203, p <.001, ηp 2 = 0.51), representing higher subjective burden and effort as well as lower equanimity and self-compassion during training compared to control trials.
