Although there was a numerical trend in lower cotton growth in several plant parameters (height, shoot dry and fresh weight, canopy cover) in the Ctrl compared to the Ctrl−, it is possible that as plants were not left to mature in this study, the effect of the nematodes on their growth was not enough to reflect differences in the growth parameters evaluated between the Ctrl and the Ctrl−.
