Considering that it is necessary to select a reference value for comparison, the transverse and longitudinal wave velocities of the row coal groups were averaged, which were recorded as P-RC and S-RC. Although the transverse waves of UMC show a decreasing trend as the temperature rises, the axial fracture development of the final coal samples is too different due to the different development of primary fractures and the uneven distribution of thermal stresses caused by the nonhomogeneity of each coal sample, and the detailed results are summarized in Section 3.2 .
