Discussion In this study, we noted that telomere length in diploid cells was increased in females in childhood when compared to males although the difference for the term group just failed to reach statistical significance (p = 0.056); increased in those with IUGR when compared to those without IUGR; and was increased in those in the least socioeconomically deprived group when compared to the most deprived group.
