Notably, osteopontin levels exhibit an increasing trend in cell lines that represent the continuum of prostate cancer progression (from androgen sensitive to CRPC) and correlate with a higher Gleason score, reduced survival [ 130 ], and metastatic tendencies [ 53 , 131 ].
