In this study, we showed that there is a highly significant downregulation of hippocampal RBP4 ( Table 1 ), which suggests impaired vascular transport of retinol from the liver to distant tissues, including the brain, assuming that hippocampal RBP4 downregulation is reflective of a similar downregulation in the liver.
