A highly significant genetic differentiation was detected between the two Virginia locations (Wachapreague on the Altantic coast and Gloucester Point inside Chesapeake Bay) and all other samples, with no genetic structure detected for samples collected North of Virginia along the cost and estuaries of New England ( Table 1 ).
