An increasing trend of mitochondrial content in MM, EMM1, and EMM2/1 organoids (fold change of 1.73 ± 0.10, 2.60 ± 0.11, and 3.10 ± 0.18, respectively) was quantified relative to control, suggesting that developmentally maturated organoids had an increasingly higher capacity for aerobic respiration and responded positively to maturation stimuli (Fig. 4b ).
