While unstimulated splenic CD8 + T cells from naïve C57BL/6 mice generally lacked Nrp-1 expression (mean 0.1%), in vitro stimulation with 1 μg αCD3/αCD28 resulted in a highly significant increase in Nrp-1-expressing CD8 + T cells with a maximum of 36% Nrp-1 + CD8 + T cells after 48 hours of stimulation ( Fig 4A ).
