According to the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions (version 6.3) ( 25 ), an I 2 range of 0–40% implied that heterogeneity might not be significant, an I 2 range of 30–60% may have represented moderate heterogeneity, an I 2 range of 50–90% may have represented substantial heterogeneity and an I 2 range of 75–100% indicated considerable heterogeneity of studies.
