Potential Pb Sources An examination of correlations between observed Pb concentrations and those of other metals suggests that household plumbing and fixtures are the main sources of Pb exposure. Across all 260 samples collected in this study, total Pb was most strongly correlated with Ni (ρ = 0.61), Zn (ρ = 0.50), and Cu and Sb (ρ = 0.40 for both of the latter) (see correlation plot in Figure S1 ); all of these correlations were highly significant ( p < 0.001).
