However, existing evidence shows an increasing trend in overweight across LMICs. 28 National and subnational studies across African regions revealed that DBM affects 14% of childbearing women in Ghana, while the prevalence of undernutrition was 4% in Ghana, 29 11% in Tanzania, 30 16.9% in Kenya 31 and 25.5% in Ethiopia. 32 Moreover, about 27% of these women in Mali 33 and 63% in Ethiopia 34 suffer from overnutrition (overweight and obesity).
