However, even if we recorded an increase in PCBs in the 2019 samples, compared to those of 2018 (possibly in dependence on the different sampling sites, i.e., the inner and outer bay), this result gives rise to hope that the banning of the production of PCBs in the 1970s has determined a decreasing trend in their transport and bioaccumulation at higher latitudes.
