Although the difference in the time required for complete digestion of the corneas that received a 0.25 mL pre-UVA rinse (Group 4) and those that received a 1 mL rinse (Group 5) failed to reach significance compared to non-rinsed corneas, the enzymatic resistance of the 10 mL rinse group (Group 6) was significantly less than that of all other cross-linked groups (Groups 3–5) ( P < 0.01 for Group 4; P < 0.05 for Groups 3 and 5) (Fig. 3 ).
