The treatment group showed a highly significant decrease in fasting plasma glucose, serum insulin concentrations, homeostasis model assessment-estimated insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), and triglycerides, while changes in BMI were not observed in this sample of chronic patients treated with first- and second-generation antipsychotic and eventually with anticholinergic agents.
