Analysis of EM sections revealed a mild trend of reduced nuclear-mitochondrial membrane contact sites in the untreated parasites compared with the iTgNup503 line; however, no change in the abundance of the nuclear mitochondrial membrane contact sites following TgNup134 depletion was seen ( Fig. 5 E ) in support of the specificity of the observed reduction upon TgNup503 depletion.
