They used immunostaining methods with caspase-3 antibodies and showed that cleaved caspase-3 levels were elevated in the diseased tissues (group 1: cleaved caspase-3: 1.7 ± 0.2, and group 2: cleaved caspase-3: 0.3 ± 0.2) These differences were statistically significant and, in the case of cleaved caspase-3, highly significant.
