When the reaction time was extended from 1 to 3 h and the reaction temperature was increased from 70°C to 100°C, the yields of ChNCs showed a decreasing trend, and the appearance of ChNCs became more and more transparent, which might be due to the excessive hydrolysis of chitin molecular chains at higher temperature and longer reaction time.
