The prevalence of anemia among women of childbearing age in Mexico shows an increasing trend from 11.6% in 2012 to 15.8% in 2022 [ 6 , 7 ], signaling a nutritional deficiency often resulting in adverse long-lasting consequences on health for both mother and child and development for the child [ 7 , 8 ].
