In this preliminary study, although we could not perform analyses such as ROS activity, mitochondria membrane potential testing, or gene and/or protein expression analyses to determine which apoptotic pathway is stimulated, we can say that our results support the few studies on the subject in the literature, and all three N-GQDs nanocomposites we used caused highly significant apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells.
