The introduction of new therapies with molecular targets, and, in particular, combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) [ 4 , 5 ] has brought an extremely significant improvement in clinical and immunovirological outcomes [ 6 , 7 , 8 ], survival [ 9 , 10 , 11 ], and likely quality of life [ 12 , 13 ]; it has also helped to reduce the incidence of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) [ 14 ].
