In the full model, adjusted for age, sex, BMI, smoking, physical activity, NSAID use, hypertension, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes, OA was significantly associated with increased incidence of CVD at 4 years (OR 1.98, 95% CI 1.18–3.31), 6 years (OR 1.67, 95% CI 1.04–2.68), 8 years (OR 1.61, 95% CI 1.02–2.54), and 10 years (OR 1.68, 95% CI 1.08–2.60), while the result for incidence at 2 years was marginally significant (OR 2.01, 95% CI 1.00–4.06).
