As shown in Figure 2 , the average binding energies of the ground-state structure of Nb 7 C n (n = 1–7) clusters generally show an increasing trend, with an obvious slope change at n = 3, which indicates that isomer Nb 7 C 3 has excellent thermal stability among Nb 7 C n (n = 1–7) clusters.
